10,000 Miles
After your first 10,000 miles on the road, and every 10,000 miles from then on, you're going to want to change your engine oil. This ensures your engine is performing at its peak and is clean of efficiency-reducing sludge.
20,000 Miles
During your second oil change, at 20,000 miles, you'll need to replace your ventilation microfilter. This helps keep the air circulating in your BMW X3 clear and free of particulates. This is also the marker where you should get your brakes inspected, which will include checking the brake lines, rotors, calipers, and pads.
30,000 Miles
At the 30,000-mile mark, you'll need to replace the air filter element-but you may need to do this more often if you're driving on dusty, dirt roads. You should also change your spark plugs, the elements that ignite the fuel in your engine. When you do not replace your spark plugs regularly, they can become less effective and ultimately lessen fuel efficiency.
40,000 Miles
When you reach 40,000 miles, you'll likely need to replace your brake pads for the first time. Your brake gradual and safe stop. If not replaced regularly, brake pads can wear all the way through, which could result in damage to the rotor itself.
50,000 Miles
At the 50,000-mile mark, it will be time to change the fluid in the rear axle differential and the fluid in the transfer case. Additionally, you should have your tires check to see how they are holding up.
You should get your tires balanced and rotated regularly to increase the life of your tires and consistently check your tires for tread depth, tire pressure, and possible damage.
