There's nothing smarter than driving safely, and BMW takes that to heart with the BMW X3. This luxury Sports Activity Vehicle® (SAV®) features numerous driver-assistance systems that help to keep you alert and aware on the road, including:

• Frontal Collision Warning
• Active Blind Spot Detection
• Lane Departure Warning

For example, it comes with standard Frontal Collision Warning, which watches the road ahead for potential hazards. If this system detects any vehicles or pedestrians in front of you, it'll issue an audible alert or automatically hit the brakes to help you come to a stop and potentially avoid a collision.

If you're highway driving in a busy area, standard Active Blind Spot Detection has you covered. It'll alert you to any vehicles in your side blind spot, letting you know if the coast isn't clear to merge or change lanes.

Driving Assistance Professional: Upgrade Your Smart Safety Features

If you want to upgrade the BMW X3 safety technology that's available to you, you may want to equip your BMW X3 with the available Driving Assistance Professional package. This includes features like Active Driving Assistant, which is designed to make every highway drive that much safer.

Active Driving Assistant combines two available features:

• Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go
• Active Lane Keeping Assist

Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go automatically adjusts your cruise control speed to go with the flow of slower-moving traffic on the highway. Set your cruising speed and follow distance and relax. If you start to accidentally drift from your lane, available Active Lane Keeping Assist is designed to gently steer you back between the lines.

Park Safely with the BMW X3

Once you reach your destination, the BMW X3 can help you secure the perfect parking space. With available Parking Assistant Plus, simply press a button and your BMW will seek out an open space. Once identified, simply follow the prompts to shift, accelerate, and brake, and your SAV® will take care of the rest-including the steering.

You can also park with the help of the 12.3-inch touchscreen display in the center stack of your BMW X3. When in reverse, this screen will transform into a live video feed of the area directly behind your vehicle. This gives you a clearer view of what's behind you, so you can watch out for other vehicles and pedestrians while backing up.
